Rent a Boat

A passion project exploring user experience, interaction design, and illustration. Designing an app concept for renting boats with a focus on craft and delight.

Rent a Boat app concept

Rent a Boat is a passion project born from my interest in user experience, illustration, and interaction design.

The concept explores a simple and intuitive way to rent different types of boats and kayaks for one or multiple people through a mobile app experience that feels playful, clear, and engaging.

A seamless booking journey, from browsing boat types to confirming a reservation, with a strong visual identity centered around custom vector illustrations.

I wanted the product to feel friendly and lightweight, reducing friction in the decision-making process and making exploration enjoyable.

Rent a Boat illustration and visual design

A full set of custom vector illustrations representing different boat types, each crafted to be clean, modern, and easily scalable.

The illustrations are not just decorative elements. They are integrated into the interaction flow and subtly animated to respond to user actions, adding personality and feedback to the experience.

The visual system balances clarity with character: bold shapes, simple color palettes, and consistent iconography that supports usability while maintaining a distinctive look and feel.

Rent a Boat interaction design screens

Motion plays a key role in the experience. Boats animate contextually, enhancing selection states, transitions, and confirmations.

The animations are lightweight and purposeful, designed to guide attention and create continuity between steps in the booking flow.

The full video walkthrough showcases how micro-interactions support the journey from selecting boat type, choosing number of participants, reviewing details, to completing the booking.

Behind-the-scenes exploration of illustration concepts, iterations from sketch to final vector assets, and a complete interactive flow.

The project includes behind-the-scenes exploration of illustration concepts, iterations from sketch to final vector assets, high-fidelity mobile screen designs, and a complete interactive flow demonstration.

This project allowed me to combine structured UX thinking with creative exploration, designing not only functional screens but also a cohesive, story-driven product experience.
